Man and woman's best friend bites more than 4.7 million people a year, and key experts believe that public education can help prevent these bites. Of those almost 800,000 seek medical treatment. Nearly 200,000 were adults.
Many are left with their face and necks mauled, limbs shredded or amputated and little or no mental therapy. Victims are left to fend for themselves. Unable to pay for surgeries, hospital stays and psychological care, many adult victims have no where to turn. The Jennifer Lowe Foundation intends to change that.
